Blog

Over a hundred million blogs exist (that’s equivalent to the total population of Japan), and a new one is created every second.

I’m taking an online (of course) class called “How to Blog.” The statistics above come from the week 1 lecture.

Mark Cuban’s blog is one of my favorites. Andy Morales discovered it.

Smelly Stuff

Friday, September 4th, 2009

I never know what to say when I’m in a new group and they do introductions and ask each person to give their name and reveal something unusual about themselves. But maybe next time I’ll admit that I actually like the smell of skunks, gasoline, and boat exhaust. I won’t try to deny I’m a weirdo.

The other night I saw a skunk in the road so I stopped and watched it carry off a dead squirrel which was 3/4 of the skunk’s size. I wasn’t aware that they are scavengers.

There have also been a bunch of raccoons around my parents’ house and I think they are so cute with their little bandit faces.

I snapped a photo of a really big toad that was hopping around the drive way too.

Fall

This morning felt a bit like a Fall day to me… bright and clean, very clear. It’s so beautiful.

Stuff

smbag22I moved to Mammoth for ten weeks with just a duffel bag of clothing and a car-full of household items. And I had everything I needed. Then I went to Europe for a month and had plenty of clothing with just one bag. So I ask myself, why do I have households full of stuff when I could easily live with just the contents of one suitcase? Life would be so much simpler if I had fewer possessions to manage. Though I’m constantly cleaning and getting rid of things, I continue to replenish my stock. I’d really like to pair things down, but that is easier said than done.
