Commenting on John McCain’s concession speech, a radio guest on NPR said he believes a person can learn the most about a man’s personality by how he articulates defeat. He explained a man’s character can best be measured in hard times.

For some reason I’m posting a tip on toilets! If you’re going out of town and the toilets won’t be flushed for a while, putting a few drops of bleach in the bowl and leaving the seat up is supposed to prevent a grime ring from building up around the water level.

Zipping up a Dress

I read a tip for zipping up a dress if you’re alone and cannot reach. You put the hook portion of a hanger through the zipper and then you can reach to pull the zipper closed yourself.

Photo Rotation

Corrie Rausch rotates by season the family photos she displays in the house. At Halloween, she sets out photos of Halloweens the family has celebrated over the years. Then she packs them away and puts up a collection depicting Thanksgivings, etc. With that system, her photos become seasonal decorations rather than year round fixtures which start to become un-noticed. They depict a range of wider range of years, the rotation keeps them visually fresh, and she can display a great variety of photos throughout the year.
